A prestigious national institution is undertaking a large-scale modernisation initiative to strengthen and future-proof South Africas financial systems. To drive this transformation, we are seeking an accomplished Programme Manager to lead complex, multi-stream projects that will shape the next generation of financial infrastructure.

About the Role

In this pivotal role, you will lead a high-impact transformation programme involving multiple stakeholders across financial and regulatory environments. You will ensure that strategic initiatives are prioritised, executed, and delivered with excellence on time, within scope, and aligned to long-term institutional objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of large transformation programmes, ensuring strategic alignment and value realisation.

• Oversee multiple project teams, providing leadership, governance, and technical direction.

• Manage executive-level stakeholder engagement across internal and external partners.

• Drive programme governance, risk management, and performance reporting.

• Ensure compliance with procurement, financial management, and quality standards.

• Mentor and guide project managers and administrators within the portfolio.

Qualifications and Experience

• Honours Degree in Programme/Project Management, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent (NQF 8).

• Minimum 8 years relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.

• Proven track record in large-scale transformation or modernisation initiatives.

• PMP or equivalent certification advantageous.

• Strong exposure to financial systems, payment environments, or regulatory projects.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Jira.

• Sound knowledge of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies.
