Assistant Construction Manager Location: JHB – Eastern Suburbs Job Type: Contractor Seniority Level: Mid-Career (Above 6 yrs exp) Report to: Operations Job Sector: Construction Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze construction methodologies with the Construction Manager Develop, Implement, and Monitor improvements Set-up and coordination of the Construction Team and contract documentation Coordinate the works of all staff to ensure good liaison between various contractors on site Identify resources required for tasks and assign responsibilities Review and control gear requirements to reduce hiring costs Develop and submit contractual documents for approval Assist in developing detailed progress reports Evaluate construction related Performance Benchmarks and efficiencies Act on behalf of Construction Manager when required, ensuring site responsibility under OSH Act Key Skills: 5-8 years Construction experience in Power Generation and/or Petrochemical environment Good understanding of Rigging methodologies Knowledge of pressure equipment regulations and welding techniques Enforcement of Health, Safety, and Quality Targets Qualifications: Matric or equivalent technical qualification Qualified tradesman in welding, boiler making, or Mechanical Fitter Eligible to register for SACPCMP
