Witbank: Health and Safety Officer

Ensure that the Company complies with all statutory requirements as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act and relevant regulations. Implement and manage an effective SHE management system. Ensure that all third parties (contractors/sub-contractors/suppliers) comply with regulations as per the OSHACT; Establish, implement, and manage SHE committees. Conduct monthly SHE Audits, SHE committee meetings and generate monthly reports. Render assistance to branches regarding health and safety issues when required. Proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the assessment. Ensure legal compliance with regulations. Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills: Must be PSIRA registered. Certificate in NOSA (SAMTRAC) or equivalent (NQF5) Registered with the institute of Safety Managers. Excellent written & Verbal communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation. Relevant experience in the Health & Safety environment at a senior level. Knowledge and experience with ISO will be an advantage, Proficient in MS office. Ability to communicate and present at all levels. Drivers License and own vehicle. No criminal record and clean disciplinary record; Ability to work as a team. Willing to work long hours/overtime as and when required.
