Job Description

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper
  • Fluent in both English and Afrikaans (non-negotiable)
  • Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or Pastel)
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
  • Experience with reconciliations, tax submissions, and payroll systems
  • Knowledge of HR support processes is advantageous
  • Qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate ledgers
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, and other accounts
  • Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Prepare invoices, receipts, and payment runs
  • Maintain organised financial records and filing systems
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Assist with payroll processing and statutory submissions
  • Support accountants during audits and year-end processes
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations
