• Recognised Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate (essential)
• Air Conditioning repair experience preferred
• Minimum of 5 years’ working experience with earthmoving machinery such as ADTs, excavators, dozers, TLBs, FELs, Grader and rollers (Current machinery on-site: Bell, CAT 950H, CAT 140K, Hyundai, HAMM Roller)
• Valid South African ID
• Valid Driver’s Licence (EB/08)
• Must reside within the Area of Interest —proof of residence required
• Physically fit and capable of performing work in all weather conditions
• Own tools of trade required
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform service, maintenance, and repairs on equipment and machinery according to sound engineering practices and equipment
• Conduct preventative maintenance work and scheduled inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Regulations, as well as company and manufacturer standards.
• Report all defects, breakdowns, and irregularities on equipment and machinery to the Project Manager.
• Develop, modify, construct, and install related equipment as required to ensure the safe operation of machinery.
• Identify and order spare parts in line with departmental procedures.
• Maintain accurate inventory of parts and consumables for field operations.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding maintenance activities and equipment
• Create and maintain job cards and provide feedback on work performed by the workshop.
• Work overtime, standby , and attend call-outs as required. 

Additional Information:

• The client will provide a field vehicle equipped with a toolbox for on-site use.
