South Africa: Buyer & Client Liaison – Import and Export

REQUIREMENTS Grade 12, relevant qualification highly advantageous Minimum 5 yrs experience in procurement/logistics imports & exports (daily basis) Own transport with a valid SA drivers license Pastel experience advantageous Experience with Letter of Credit payment method – an advantage Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint proficient Must be a team player Good communication and problem-solving skills Must be able to work independently German language would be an advantage Work permit, if necessary, must be available DUTIES Sourcing/procuring various products from local & international suppliers Compiling of quotations for cross-trade & import shipments to customers Liaising with freight forwarders to obtain air/sea courier quotations Issuing orders to various international & local suppliers Expedite and follow up with suppliers to schedule collections Daily follow-up with suppliers on outstanding orders Arrange & fast track shipments via Courier/ Air/ Sea Updating customers on their orders and shipping delivery times Keeping track of customers account in terms of payments due/ statements Maintaining good relationships with suppliers and customers Product calculation Duties are not limited to the above, the position will also include other secretarial duties should assistance be required.
