Job Description

Lodge Manager Luxury Lodge | Kruger National Park
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Lodge Manager for a luxury lodge in the Kruger National Park. This position offers a negotiable salary depending on experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the lodge and its team while ensuring an exceptional guest experience in line with the lodges standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Report to the General Manager and oversee overall lodge operations
Deliver outstanding guest relations, maintaining a personalised at home experience
Manage, motivate, and develop lodge staff, ensuring high morale and ongoing skills development
Support and participate in human resources functions, including recruitment, inductions, onboarding, and performance management
Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping, maintenance, and gardening in line with lodge design and visual audits
Oversee financial management, including stock control and order administration
Ensure effective communication with departmental teams to meet guest needs and operational efficiency
Manage daily administration of concierge and reception duties
Ensure the quality, care, and maintenance of all lodge equipment and products
Drive broader company goals by planning and implementing strategic management initiatives
Contribute to sustainability operations, ensuring the lodge operates within environmental parameters and actively seeks ways to enhance eco-friendly practices
Participate in and support the lodges conservation message and purpose
Perform additional tasks as reasonably requested to support business and operational needs, fostering collaboration and multi-skilling among staff

Skills and Experience Required
Extensive lodge management experience in a luxury or five-star environment
Proven leadership and team management skills
Strong operational, administrative, and financial management abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to high standards of guest service and staff development
Knowledge of sustainability practices and conservation principles
Ability to remain calm, resourceful, and solution-focused under pressure
South African citizenship or valid work visa

Lodge Manager Luxury Safari Lodge | Sabi Sands

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and professional Lodge Manager to oversee the daily operations of a world-class luxury safari lodge located in the prestigious Sabi Sands Game Reserve. The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader with a passion for creating exceptional guest experiences and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality in a remote bush environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Experience & Service

  • Act as a visible and hands-on host, engaging with guests daily to ensure a personalised and memorable stay.

  • Maintain the highest standards of guest care and satisfaction, ensuring all feedback is addressed constructively.

  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest queries, complaints, and special requests.

  • Manage relationships with VIP guests, travel partners, and media visits.

  • Conduct regular guest briefings and ensure all lodge activities and experiences run smoothly.

Lodge Operations

  • Oversee the coordination and communication between all lodge departments to ensure seamless operations.

  • Maintain and enforce service standards and procedures aligned with company expectations.

  • Ensure the lodge is always presented in pristine condition and operational efficiency is maintained.

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Lead, train, and motivate the lodge team to achieve excellence in performance and service delivery.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and support team members in their professional growth.

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive working environment across all departments.

Financial & Stock Controls

  • Support the management of lodge budgets, stock control, and procurement processes.

  • Monitor and manage operating costs, ensuring financial efficiency without compromising guest experience.

  • Maintain supplier relationships and ensure all financial procedures are adhered to.

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure compliance with all company health, safety, and environmental policies.

  • Oversee adherence to sustainability initiatives, including waste, water, and energy management.

  • Implement and maintain HR policies and operational procedures in line with company standards.

Communication & Reporting

  • Participate in regular management meetings, providing detailed feedback on operations, staffing, and guest satisfaction.

  • Prepare reports for senior management as required, ensuring accuracy and transparency.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 35 years experience in a senior lodge management or guest services role within a 5-star safari or luxury hospitality environment.

  • Proven ability to deliver high levels of guest satisfaction and operational excellence.

  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Professional, adaptable, and capable of working in a remote environment.

  • Valid drivers licence and own transport.

  • Proficient in MS Office and property management systems.

Package:
