Job Description

Job Summary The Lodge Assistant supports the smooth daily operation of the lodge by assisting across departments including guest services, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, and general lodge operations. This role ensures excellent guest experiences through efficient service delivery, attention to detail, and a hands-on, flexible approach. Duties and Responsibilities Assist with daily lodge operations to ensure smooth and efficient service Support guest arrivals, departures, and general guest requirements Assist with housekeeping duties including room preparation, inspections, and cleaning support Support food and beverage service including setup, service, and clearing when required Assist with basic maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of lodge facilities and grounds Ensure public areas are clean, tidy, and well-presented at all times Assist with stock control, storage, and inventory management Support senior staff and management with daily operational tasks Assist with laundry duties where required Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene standards are followed Maintain a professional and friendly attitude towards guests at all times Assist with guest activities, transfers, or luggage when required Report maintenance issues or guest concerns to management promptly Follow lodge procedures, standards, and policies at all times Assist in emergency procedures when required Perform any reasonable duties as requested by management Qualifications & Requirements Grade 12 / Matric certificate Previous hospitality or lodge experience advantageous Basic understanding of housekeeping, F&B, or lodge operations Good communication skills (English essential; additional languages advantageous) Physically fit and able to perform manual duties Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude Ability to work well in a team and independently Reliable, honest, and well-presented Valid drivers licence advantageous Key Skills & Competencies Strong customer service skills Attention to detail Time management and reliability Adaptability and willingness to learn Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure Positive attitude and strong work ethic
