Job Description

K2 Recruit is partnering with a leading organisation within the supply chain and export environment to identify a skilled Business Systems Analyst to join their IT & Systems team.

This role is ideal for a systems-focused professional who enjoys bridging the gap between business and technology, managing system enhancements, driving process improvements, and supporting operational efficiency through technology solutions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing system enhancement requests, analysing business requirements, supporting system integrations, and ensuring successful delivery of software and process improvements across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Demand & Requirements Management

  • Coordinate and prioritise system and software enhancement requests across departments
  • Conduct detailed business analysis to identify operational needs and improvement opportunities
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications
  • Facilitate requirements gathering workshops and document business cases, workflows, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Maintain and manage a consolidated enhancement and change demand register

System Enhancement & Project Delivery

  • Manage small-scale system changes and enhancements as mini projects
  • Coordinate scope, scheduling, testing, deployment, and delivery activities
  • Work closely with software vendors and internal teams to ensure high-quality solution delivery
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including planning, execution, and sign-off
  • Coordinate production deployments with minimal operational disruption
  • Ensure traceability from requirements through to successful implementation and validation

Systems Support & Incident Management

  • Provide second-line system support to business users
  • Troubleshoot software, data integrity, and system performance issues
  • Escalate complex incidents to external vendors where required
  • Maintain system documentation, release logs, and support materials
  • Monitor system performance and identify optimisation opportunities

Data Management & Reporting

  • Ensure accurate and consistent data flow between systems
  • Support integration between operational systems and reporting platforms
  • Perform data validation and analysis using SQL and BI tools
  • Collaborate with data teams on data models and master data management initiatives

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a liaison between business units, IT teams, and external vendors
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project progress effectively
  • Facilitate system training, documentation, and handovers for new functionality
  • Build strong working relationships across technical and operational teams

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Honours Degree advantageous

Experience

  • 5+ years experience in Business and Systems Analysis
  • 35 years experience managing software enhancements or small system projects
  • Experience within the fruit export industry advantageous
  • Proven experience writing functional and technical specifications
  • Experience working with ERP, CRM, or bespoke operational systems
  • Vendor management and stakeholder engagement experience essential

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong business and systems analysis capability
  • Experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation
  • Strong understanding of software development and system design principles
  • Experience with SQL, Power BI, Excel, and data analysis tools
  • Exposure to Agile and/or Waterfall project methodologies
  • Understanding of APIs, system integrations, and data flows
  • Experience coordinating and executing UAT processes
  • Proficiency in:
    • MS Office
    • Power BI
    • Azure SQL
    • Azure DevOps
