Cape Town City Centre: Preparator/Draughtsman

Responsibilities Piping Preparation & Draughting: Take ownership of the preparation and draughting of all piping isometric drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications and standards. Drawing Control & Documentation: Manage drawing registers, revision control, and the seamless communication of updates to fabrication and production teams. Production Software Management: Lead the process of inputting, tracking, and maintaining fabrication data within the companys digital production and quality management software. Interdepartmental Coordination: Liaise with engineering, QC, and production teams to ensure drawing accuracy, material readiness, and workflow efficiency. Quality & Compliance: Verify that drawings meet technical and quality requirements, assisting in resolving fabrication or design-related queries. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to system enhancements, workflow improvements, and the integration of draughting and production data to streamline project execution. Requirements Educational background: National Diploma / or related technical discipline. Years of experience: 25 years of experience in piping draughting, preparation, or detailing within fabrication, marine, or oil & gas environments. Technical proficiency: Skilled in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent 2D/3D design software. Computer literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with production or quality tracking software will be advantageous. Additional skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple drawing packages simultaneously. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
