Were looking for a detail-driven and commercially minded eCommerce Copywriter to join our team. In this role, youll take ownership of product data quality and on-site content, ensuring copy is accurate, optimised for SEO, and aligned with brand messaging. From product naming to homepage updates, youll play a key role in enhancing the customer journey and driving performance across our digital channels. Key Duties Create accurate, engaging & SEO-optimised product copy across a range of categories Maintain consistency in product naming conventions and attributes to support search and filtering Ensure completeness and accuracy of product information through cross-functional collaboration Review site search terms and customer feedback to improve product data and discoverability Update on-site content including homepages and landing pages in line with campaigns and seasonal promotions Moderate product reviews and take appropriate actions where necessary Collaborate with wider teams (eg. Merchandise & Marketing) to ensure messaging consistency Contribute to ongoing site improvements by analysing user behaviour and performance data Stay informed on industry trends and conduct regular benchmarking to identify opportunities Champion SEO best practices across all web content and support continuous optimisation efforts Job Requirements Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications At least 3- 5 years experience in a similar position Matric and related tertiary education in digital/ eCommerce High-level understanding of web design and web analysis Understanding of SEO and eCommerce copywriting best practices Experience with eCommerce platforms & Google Analytics Knowledge of digital marketing channels such as PPC, SEO, display & affiliate marketing Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically MS Excel) Domain knowledge in eCommerce, retail, online advertising and/or analytics Competencies Goal oriented and self-motivated must be able to work independently with minimal supervision Flexible and adaptable must enjoy working in a fast-paced and at times challenging environment Ability to work cross-functionally and with a wide range of individuals with different skill sets Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal) Strong sense of ownership & responsibility track record of performance meeting targets & objectives Can do positive attitude eager to grow, learn and develop your skills Decisive, structured and organised, with a keen eye for detail Fast learner with a strong aptitude for systems Passionate about online, digital, eCommerce, websites and UX Please note: The Cape Union Mart Group is committed to transformation.
