About the Role
A leading design-led outdoor products company is seeking an experienced Senior Production Manager to join their team in Cape Town. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a results-driven leader to own end-to-end production delivery, ensuring luxury quality standards and cost-effective output through stable, repeatable processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end production delivery to consistently achieve plan adherence, output, and on-time production targets.
- Own production planning and control to ensure stable execution, proactive recovery actions, and minimal disruption.
- Maintain and enforce quality standards by embedding quality ownership into daily operations and reducing defects and rework.
- Establish and sustain strong factory organization (5S) and visual management to improve flow, cleanliness, and operational control.
- Drive stock control discipline across production to prevent parts shortages, losses, and line stoppages.
- Manage employee performance and conduct, building accountability, capability, and consistent execution across teams.
- Ensure accurate and timely ERP production system governance, enabling reliable planning, reporting, and decision-making.
- Lead structured problem-solving and continuous improvement to remove bottlenecks, improve throughput, and stabilize processes.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety standards and promote a safe, disciplined factory culture.
- Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly production reporting that provides clear performance visibility and escalates risks early.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Production Management, Operations, or Industrial Engineering.
- 5 to 10+ years in a production or manufacturing (FMCG) Management role.
- Proven track record delivering quality production output and schedule adherence.
- Experience with production planning and control, SMV/productivity improvement, and shop floor execution.
- Strong exposure to stock control processes and production to warehouse material flow.
- Experience using and governing an ERP system for production, including orders, confirmations, and stock movements.
