Durban South: Strategic Management Accountant posted by Network Finance

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain accurate product costing structures
• Analyse manufacturing costs and investigate cost variances
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial performance reports
• Conduct profitability and margin analysis to support business decision-making
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Monitor inventory-related costs and support stock valuation processes
• Partner with production and operational teams to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiencies
• Support month-end and year-end reporting activities
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of costing and financial data
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operations
• Assisting with month-end and year-end financial processes

Education:

• BCom Accounting or Finance
• Additional qualifications in Cost and Management Accounting will be advantageous
• Strong academic foundation in financial and management accounting principles

Skills and Experience:

• 2–5 years’ relevant experience in accounting or management accounting
• Proven costing experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong understanding of BOMs
• Experience with inventory, stock control, and cost analysis
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with both finance and operational team
