About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing tools used in production, ensuring efficient operations and meeting production needs. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with design, production, and maintenance teams to drive tooling excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and service tools used in production.
- Set up and operate conventional lathes, milling machines, surface grinders.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD files for tooling.
- Conduct measurements and inspections using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMMs.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and perform root cause analysis to identify and correct problems.
- Collaborate with design, production, and maintenance teams to ensure tools meet production needs.
- Modify tooling for efficiency improvements and design enhancements.
- Maintain accurate records of tool maintenance and usage.
- Follow safety procedures and ensure all tools comply with health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proficient in reading technical drawings.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Good computer skills.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Flexibility – able to work shifts and overtime when needed.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Understanding of manufacturing and machining principles.
Qualifications
A relevant trade qualification in Toolmaking, Precision Engineering, and/or related fields.
