Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review the scope of work and production plan and direct and execute the placement of Lifting Machines and Rigging Equipment.
• Estimating the size, shape and weight of objects to be moved, including recognizing of center of gravity.
• Participate in the compilation of Rigging Studies and Risk Assessments.
• Conduct pre-use inspections on all Lifting Machines and Rigging Equipment certificates.
• Conduct continuous surveillance of the environment and load of Rigging Equipment.
• Work independently in execution of lifting and rigging tasks.
• Provide guidance on techniques, equipment use, inspections, and good rigging practices.
• Read and understand rigging drawings, rigging studies, and risk assessment documentation.
• Basic knowledge of Labour Law and OHS Regulations.

Qualifications:

Grade 12 with English, Maths/Science/Technical Drawings.
Minimum of 3 years working experience as a Tackler in a Boiler environment.
Rigging and Slinging training or Minimum of CAT2 Rigging.
