About the Role
You will provide technical leadership and support for mining products, ensuring equipment reliability, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and achievement of business performance targets through effective collaboration with supervisory teams, customers, and manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support across all mining products, ensuring high levels of equipment reliability and customer satisfaction
- Ensure that PIR and PAR data are comprehensive, accurate, and submitted within required timelines
- Support TSA and provide timely feedback to relevant stakeholders
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators, including Equipment Availability (EA), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), ensuring monthly targets are achieved
- Conduct and oversee machine inspections, ensuring compliance with maintenance standards and performance targets
- Coordinate and manage new machine commissioning activities, ensuring all required data is accurately captured and reported
- Lead and monitor the implementation of CSI initiatives to enhance product performance, reliability, and operational efficiency
- Ensure warranty-related KPIs are achieved through effective management of warranty claims, investigations, and corrective actions
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between field operations and manufacturing facilities, facilitating communication, issue resolution, and product improvement initiatives
- Drive operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement to support corporate performance and profitability objectives
- Collaborate closely with supervisory and operational teams to achieve business goals, improve equipment performance, and deliver exceptional customer support
Requirements
Matric and relevant tertiary qualification (relevant Diploma or Degree or trade test in relevant trade)
Minimum 8 – 10 years related experience and/or training related to the GET business
Yellow metal market experience is preferred
Preferably OEM experience in a middle to senior management role

Lead, recruit, interview, train, and develop service personnel to ensure a highly skilled and motivated workforce

Customer Relationship Management
Maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure maximum satisfaction and long term business partnerships
Act as the primary customer liaison, providing technical guidance and responsive support
Conduct regular customer visits and participate in monthly and quarterly review meetings
Manage internal and external customer correspondence and ensure timely communication and feedback
Advise customers on cost-effective maintenance solutions and equipment improvement opportunities
Ensure a 24-hour response to service requests, breakdowns, and customer concerns
Service Operations & Technical Support
Manage service operations, including preventive maintenance programs, breakdown response, and after-hours support
Provide expert technical support for mining equipment, remanufactured components, engines, and technology products
Deliver on-site, remote, and scheduled technical support to customers and internal departments, including Parts, Workshop, Remanufacturing, and Field Service
Liaise with factory support teams and overseas principals regarding technical issues, product improvements, and equipment performance
Maintain current knowledge of new machine developments, technologies, and industry best practices
Asset, Fleet & Regional Management
Manage departmental assets, tools, equipment, and inventory to ensure operational readiness
Oversee company vehicles and field service fleet utilization
Coordinate activities with agents and service partners in neighboring countries and regional markets
Ensure effective management and accountability of all assigned assets and resources
Safety, Compliance & Administration
Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and industry regulations
Promote a strong safety culture through adherence to safe work practices and risk management procedures
Report unusual incidents, equipment failures, and property-related concerns
Continuous Improvement & Financial Performance
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on service quality, reliability, and operational efficiency
Analyze costs and implement strategies to improve cost-effectiveness and profitability
Support business objectives through effective resource management and operational planning
