<p>Grinding Operation</p><p>Manual Lathe Machine Operator</p><ul><li>Grind external or cylindrical tapered surfaces.</li><li>Read and interpret drawings, and blueprints.</li><li>Determine product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, and number of parts to be ground.</li><li>Collect and assemble required products.</li><li>Determine grinding speeds, feed rates, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels to be used.</li><li>Dress the grinding wheel according to specifications.</li><li>Lift or hoist workpieces using a crane.</li><li>Confirm ground workpiece has the correct specifications.</li><li>Change worn grinding wheels or worn tip.</li><li>Utilize prescribed measuring tools to confirm product dimensions.</li><li>Set up automatic work-feeding device.</li><li>Ensure use proper wheel guards on all grinding machines</li><li>Observe machine during operation</li><li>Examine work pieces for any defects and keep records</li></ul><p>House keeping</p><ul><li>Health, Safety and Environment Follow strict safety regulations such as wearing gloves, aprons, protective masks, safety shoes etc.</li><li>Demonstrate and promote a proactive commitment to health &amp; safety, wellbeing and the environment whilst complying with all laws and company policies</li><li>Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons.</li><li>Report any safety incidents to the safety department as per safety policies and procedures.</li><li>Adhere to health and safety regulations, policies and protocols of the company.</li><li>Executing instructions received from the safety department.</li><li>Ensuring cleanliness and good housekeeping within your work area.</li></ul><ul><li>Attend and participate in daily morning production meeting</li><li>Produce according to the set standard time, daily targets and delivery dates</li><li>Complete daily output production sheets</li><li>Recommend innovative ways to make your work better and easier</li><li>Cross train as backup in other areas of the manufacturing plant</li><li>Complete any tasks that may arise as instructed by the Production manager and or Supervisor.</li><li>Ability to work overtime when required to</li><li>Participate in resolving breakdowns and machine maintenance</li><li>Production changeover</li></ul>
