Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain a strong network of referral partners, investors, founders and ecosystem stakeholders to generate quality deal flow. Source, assess and manage a pipeline of investment opportunities across various stages of evaluation. Develop and present investment theses supported by commercial analysis, financial modelling and market research. Lead and manage financial, commercial and operational due diligence processes. Analyse historical financial performance and prepare detailed valuation models. Structure and negotiate debt, mezzanine and equity transactions. Prepare high-quality investment memoranda and recommendations for investment committee consideration. Present investment opportunities and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders. Oversee transaction execution, including legal documentation, negotiations and closing processes. Support post-investment portfolio management activities and value creation initiatives. Monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities for growth and risk mitigation. Contribute to continuous improvement of investment processes and best practices. Mentor, coach and support the development of junior investment professionals and analysts. Job Experience and Skills Required: Relevant postgraduate or undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Law or a related quantitative discipline. MBA, CA(SA), CFA or CAIA qualification advantageous. Minimum 5 years’ experience across the investment lifecycle, including deal origination, execution and portfolio management. Proven experience in SME investing, private equity, venture capital, development finance, corporate finance or strategy consulting. Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical capabilities. Experience structuring and executing debt and/or equity transactions. Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment. Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and presentation skills. Strong commercial acumen and investment judgement. Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
