Company and Job Description
Our client, a well-established corporate bank, is seeking a Financial Crime Due Diligence Officer to join their Financial Crime team.
This role partners closely with Coverage and business stakeholders to assess client desirability from a financial crime perspective. You will conduct detailed client due diligence, analyse transactional behaviour, evaluate client risk profiles and provide specialist advice on AML, KYC and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct client desirability assessments using risk-sensitive AML criteria.
- Perform Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on high-risk clients.
- Monitor client transactional behaviour and identify changes in financial crime risk profiles.
- Analyse complex client information and provide recommendations regarding financial crime risk.
- Develop a thorough understanding of financial products, contracting parties and transaction structures.
- Assess end-to-end commercial transactions to identify potential financial crime exposure.
- Provide AML and Financial Crime advice to Coverage and relevant business units.
- Critically analyse proposed transaction and deal structures from a financial crime perspective.
- Support operational KYC processes where required.
- Apply regulatory exceptions where legally permissible.
- Remain current with local and international AML legislation, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Job Experience & Skills Required / Ideal Candidate Profile
Education
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Risk Management, Law, Commerce, Accounting or a related field.
Experience
- Experience within Financial Crime, AML, Compliance, KYC or Enhanced Due Diligence.
- Sound understanding of AML legislation, financial crime risk management and regulatory requirements.
- Experience performing client risk assessments and due diligence.
- Exposure to banking or financial services environments will be advantageous.
- Ability to analyse complex financial transactions and client structures.
Skills
- Strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
