Our client is seeking a skilled Project Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of multiple projects, ensuring accurate cost allocation, monitoring project budgets, and supporting financial reporting requirements.
This role is ideal for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working closely with project managers and operational teams to ensure projects remain financially viable and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor project budgets, costs, and financial performance
• Perform project costing and profitability analysis
• Prepare project-related financial reports and forecasts
• Manage revenue recognition and project accounting processes
• Track project expenditure and ensure accurate cost allocation
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Support month-end and year-end reporting processes
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
• Provide financial insights to project managers and stakeholders

Job Experience and Skills Required

Education:

• BCom Accounting, Finance, or related qualification

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience
• Proven experience as a Project Accountant or in a project-based finance role
• Experience with project costing, budgeting, and financial reporting
• Technology industry experience highly advantageous
• Exposure to multi-project environments beneficial

Skills:

• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• ERP system experience
• Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Cost management
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
