• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical/Structural Drafting (Verification Required).
• 3-5 years of experience in drafting within the crane or structural steel industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and structural drafting principles.
• Familiarity with the South African Steel Construction Handbook.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and standards.
• Experience in supplier sourcing and procurement processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills for liaising with teams and suppliers.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for cranes, hoists, and structural components.
• Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly diagrams.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards such as SANS and ISO.
• Modify and update drawings based on feedback from engineers and project managers.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for projects.
• Source at least three material quotes from different suppliers for cost comparison.
• Evaluate supplier quotes and select the most cost-effective option.
• Raise purchase orders (POs) and coordinate procurement processes.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery timelines and material specifications.
• Collaborate with fabrication and installation teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Maintain organized documentation of drawing revisions and procurement records.
• Stay informed about industry best practices and advancements in drafting technology.
