Core Criteria:
- Fully qualified FGASA Trails Guide (NQF 4 trails)
- Registered with the National Department of Tourism, with all permits required to legally conduct guided walking safaris
- Valid First Aid certification
- Valid South African driver’s licence with Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
- Valid firearm competency certificate for business purposes; legally authorised to carry a company-issued rifle
- Previous experience guiding in a luxury lodge environment
- Sound knowledge of local flora, fauna, ecology, animal behaviour, and conservation principles
- Excellent communication and guest engagement skills
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a remote environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct guided game drives, walking safaris, and interpretive experiences to reserve standards
- Ensure guest safety, satisfaction, and a memorable wildlife experience at all times
- Maintain guiding vehicles, equipment, and firearms in line with company and legal requirements
- Assist with wildlife monitoring, conservation initiatives, and data collection
- Support guest arrivals, departures, and activity coordination
- Work closely with the Head Guide to maintain consistency in guiding and guest experience standards
- Contribute to broader reserve operations during periods of low occupancy, including maintenance, fence inspections, and wildlife management support
On Offer:
- Live-in position; accommodation provided
- Meals provided when guests are in camp
- Salary: R20kpm
