About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Housekeeper to join our team at a luxury 5-star hotel in Plettenberg Bay. As the key member of our housekeeping operation, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional cleanliness, guest comfort, and presentation standards throughout the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the housekeeping department
- Conduct routine inspections of rooms and hotel facilities to ensure 5-star standards
- Coordinate deep cleaning schedules and preventative maintenance reporting
- Maintain housekeeping SOPs and luxury service standards
- Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate housekeeping staff
- Prepare staff rosters and manage departmental scheduling
- Conduct performance reviews and ongoing training sessions
- Monitor staff productivity and service delivery
- Ensure staff grooming and presentation standards are maintained
- Manage housekeeping budgets and control departmental costs
- Negotiate with suppliers and manage purchasing where applicable
- Minimise wastage and control breakages/losses
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and special requirements professionally
- Coordinate with Front Office regarding arrivals, departures, and VIP guests
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Hospitality Management qualification or similar tertiary qualification (preferred)
- Minimum 4–6 years’ housekeeping experience in a luxury hotel or lodge environment
- At least 2–3 years in a senior supervisory or management role
- Experience within a 4-star or 5-star hospitality establishment
