Job Overview: Machine Setter The Machine Setter is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This role involves preparing machines for production runs, performing changeovers, monitoring machine performance, and troubleshooting equipment issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Key Responsibilities: Set up and prepare machinery and equipment for production according to job specifications. Perform machine changeovers, tooling adjustments, and product change setups. Ensure machines are operating efficiently and producing products to quality standards. Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments during production runs. Conduct routine inspections and basic preventative maintenance on equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve machine faults, breakdowns, and operational issues. Verify that raw materials, tooling, and machine settings are correct before production commences. Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and company operating procedures. Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Assist with operator training on machine operation and best practices where required. Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 / Matric. Proven experience as a Machine Setter in a manufacturing or production environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of production processes, machine setups, and quality standards. Good understanding of health and safety regulations within a manufacturing environment.
