About the Role
At The Talent Room, we are looking for a Sales, Marketing, and Shipping Manager in Port Elizabeth to drive business growth and customer success. This role involves leading and managing sales and marketing initiatives, developing new business opportunities, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies to increase revenue and market share.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Eastern Cape and surrounding regions.
- Develop new client relationships within the logistics, freight, shipping, and transport sectors.
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts.
- Generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, client visits, and business development activities.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and pricing based on customer requirements.
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and commercial terms with clients.
- Follow up on quotations and leads to convert opportunities into confirmed business.
- Monitor sales pipelines and ensure consistent achievement of sales targets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and business partners.
- Coordinate with internal logistics, operations, and shipping teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Relevant qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in sales/business development, preferably within logistics, freight, shipping, or transport.
- Previous experience in a managerial or senior sales position.
- Strong new business development and account management experience.
- Experience dealing with corporate and commercial clients.
- Strong understanding of logistics, freight, shipping, or transportation processes.
- Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
- Strong customer relationship management skills.
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with CRM systems will be advantageous.
