• A Doctoral degree (NQF Level 10)
• A minimum of 15 years’ relevant senior leadership experience, with at least 7 years at executive level (CEO, Deputy CEO or equivalent)
• Proven experience leading large, complex, knowledge intensive organisations within the public or private sector, research, higher education, innovation, or science systems
• Demonstrated success leading multi disciplinary, matrixed organisations across multiple programmes or portfolios
• Track record of effective engagement with Boards, government structures, and senior officials
• Sound working knowledge of the PFMA, National Treasury Regulations, and public sector financial governance
• Strong track record in resource mobilisation, stakeholder partnerships, and financial oversight
• Visionary, ethical leadership style with strong public facing presence and gravitas at national and global forums
