Remote Work Readiness Guide

Prepare the working system, not only the laptop

Remote Work Readiness Guide

Remote work depends on communication, reliable delivery and clear boundaries. Test the practical setup before the interview or first task.

Connectivity and continuity

Know your normal connection speed, data cost and backup plan for power or network interruptions. Be honest about limits. Agree how urgent interruptions will be communicated and which work can continue offline.

Workspace and information safety

Use device updates, screen lock, multi-factor authentication, separate work accounts and secure backups. Avoid shared public devices for confidential work. Confirm who may access customer or company information and how it must be deleted or returned.

Communication habits

Agree working hours, response expectations, meeting channels, task ownership and what “done” means. Summarise decisions in writing. Remote visibility should come from useful progress, not constant surveillance.

Show remote evidence

In your profile or CV, describe tools used, distributed teams supported, response volumes, projects delivered and how you handled handovers or outages. Do not claim a tool merely because it appears in the advert.

Local and hybrid tasks

For errands, sourcing or delivery, agree location, expenses, spending limits, receipts, ownership and proof of handover before money is spent. On JVR Virtual Work, payment remains directly between the parties.
