Job Description

Job Title: Senior Sales Consultant Department: Sales Reports To: Director Job Purpose: The Senior Sales Consultant is responsible for driving new business and growing existing accounts by selling our suite of legal software solutions to SME and corporate clients, both in South Africa and across borders. This role involves managing the entire sales process, from lead generation and product demonstrations to closing deal, while building lasting client relationships and contributing feedback to product development and marketing strategies. Key Responsibilities: Sales: Achieve and exceed individual sales targets through proactive client engagement and strategic lead management. Work and nurture leads, to maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects. Identify the right product fit based on client requirements and pain points. Deliver compelling product demonstrations to showcase value and drive conversions. Provide tailored software solutions and manage the full sales cycle through to closing. Administration: Demonstrate consistent administrative discipline through accurate record-keeping and timely updates. Access and draw on historical sales data to inform decision-making and improve future performance. Maintain organised documentation and ensure all client records, sales activities, and reports are up to date. Resolve problematic orders and ensure follow-up feedback is documented and actioned. Update the internal sales database regularly and ensure it reflects the most current information. Communication and Reporting: Keep management informed of all problematic deals, sales status, and client issues in real time. Maintain clear and professional communication with both clients and internal teams. Share client feedback and industry-related insights with relevant teams to guide product improvement. Collaborate with product specialists and development teams on product enhancement requests. Submit regular reports on sales activity, performance metrics, and market trends. Product Enhancements: Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams by capturing product improvement requests. Identify and communicate recurring client needs, industry developments, and feature suggestions. Engage with the Product team to ensure client requirements are considered in future product development. Marketing: Actively support marketing initiatives by contributing to campaign planning and execution. Maintain a professional and engaging presence across relevant social media platforms. Provide market-based insights and input to marketing teams based on client interactions and trends. Participate in company events, campaigns, and promotional opportunities that drive brand visibility. Technical Skills: Proficiency in CRM platforms and sales tracking tools. Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to create and deliver compelling digital and in-person product demos. Strong understanding of solution selling, consultative sales approaches, and negotiation tactics. Ability to use market data and client feedback to inform strategic selling. Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities. Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and administrative capabilities. Professional presentation and conduct. Resilient, adaptable, and able to thrive in a high-performance sales environment. Strong business acumen and ability to understand legal client operations. Education & Qualifications: LLB or B.Proc degree (preferred) Experience Requirements: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior sales or business development role. Prior experience selling software or solutions in a B2B environment. Experience working with clients in the legal or professional services sector is advantageous. Demonstrated success in managing and closing complex sales deals. Working Conditions: Office Based – 5 days a week Travel requirements – Moderate (client visits as needed) Working hours: 08h00 – 16h30 (Monday – Thursday) 08h00 – 16h00 (Friday) Disclaimer: This job description is intended to outline the general nature and key responsibilities of the role.
