About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team in South Africa. As an integral part of our accounting department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Records all financial transactions accurately in the company’s accounting system
Manages accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and receipts
Reconciles bank statements and petty cash to maintain accurate cash records
Maintains the general ledger by posting journal entries and adjusting entries as needed
Monitors and tracks all company expenses and income for accurate reporting
Prepares trial balances to ensure that debits and credits are correctly balanced

Requirements

Completed qualification in accounting or a related field (e.g. BCom Accounting, ACCA, CIMA)

Qualifications

Formal education in accounting or a related field (Bachelor’s degree or higher recommended)
