About the Role

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Maintenance Manager to join a luxury lodge in Touws River. This hands-on role involves supporting all maintenance operations, ensuring safety compliance, managing projects and contractors, and overseeing the lodge’s facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Manager in overseeing operations across buildings, accommodation, public areas, and equipment
• Manage projects, contractors, and budgets efficiently
• Ensure compliance with OHS standards, fire regulations, and safety protocols
• Control stock, tools, and procurement processes
• Oversee fleet management, servicing, and reporting
• Supervise and develop maintenance staff performance and capabilities
• Maintain high standards of operational and environmental safety within the lodge

Requirements

• Matric
• Relevant maintenance qualifications and certificates
• Valid Driver’s License
• First Aid Level 3 certification
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance and safety compliance
• Firefighting experience (Crew Leader/Crew Boss, including grass fires)
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, transformers, and generators
