Assistant Reservations Manager

Job Summary
Responsibilities:
Reservation Management: Taking and processing reservations through phone calls, online booking platforms, and emails. Verifying room availability, rates, and guest details. Managing room blocks and group reservations. Handling cancellations, changes, and special requests. Ensuring accurate data entry into the reservation system.
Sales and Revenue Optimization: Promoting special packages, room upgrades, and other hotel amenities to maximize revenue. Utilizing revenue management strategies to optimize pricing and inventory. Identifying sales opportunities and converting leads into bookings.
Team Leadership and Supervision: Coaching and training reservation agents on sales techniques, guest service standards, and system operations. Monitoring staff performance, providing feedback, and addressing issues. Scheduling and assigning tasks to the reservations team
Guest Service: Answering guest inquiries regarding hotel facilities, policies, and local attractions. Resolving guest complaints and concerns promptly. Ensuring a positive and personalized guest experience throughout the reservation process
Reporting and Analysis: Generating daily, weekly, and monthly reservation reports to track occupancy trends and identify areas for improvement. Analysing reservation data to inform revenue management strategies
Requirements:
Matric
Formal Qualification
At least 2-4 years’ experience in a large hotel environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong customer service orientation
Proficiency in reservation systems (e.g., Opera, Opera Cloud, PMS)
Basic understanding of revenue management principles
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
Previous experience in a hotel reservations role preferred
Leadership and supervisory skills for managing a team
