Job Summary
- Completed trade test as a Marine Mechanic
- Minimum 5 years post qualification experience
- Proven experience working on V6 and V8 carburetted engines
- Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
DUTIES
- Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems
- Identifying the cause of engine malfunctions
- Install new parts when required
- Replace worn or damaged parts e.g. spark plugs, filters etc
- Ensure safe and proper operation of the vessel
- Adjust or replace propellers when needed
- See to oil changes, grease fittings, and cooling system checks
- Run the engine at different speeds to ensure proper function and identify issues
- Keep detailed records of work performed and parts replaced to inform customers
