Job Purpose:

To accurately and efficiently pick and prepare parcels or items for dispatch according to customer orders, ensuring quality, speed, and accuracy while maintaining safety and cleanliness in the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pick items according to order sheets or scanning devices (e.g., barcode scanners).
• Ensure the correct quantity and quality of items are picked.
• Place picked items in the correct bins, cages, or containers for delivery.
• Label, scan, and package items as required.
• Report any damaged, missing, or incorrect items to the supervisor immediately.
• Assist with stock counting and inventory control when required.
• Maintain a clean and organized picking area.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and warehouse procedures.
• Meet daily picking targets and performance standards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 10 or higher (Matric / Grade 12 advantageous)
• Previous experience in a warehouse, courier, or retail picking environment (advantageous but not essential)
• Basic reading, writing, and numeracy skills
• Ability to operate barcode scanners or handheld picking devices (training can be provided)
• Physically fit and able to lift/move items up to 25kg
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Reliable and punctual

Job Purpose:

To accurately and efficiently pick parcels and packages from warehouse inventory according to delivery schedules, ensuring orders are prepared correctly for timely dispatch.

Key Responsibilities:

• Select and pick parcels/orders from warehouse shelves based on daily delivery manifests or pick lists.
• Verify items against order specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and pack parcels securely for transport, minimizing damage.
• Assist with sorting and labeling packages for delivery.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the picking and storage areas.
• Report damaged or missing stock to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Assist with inventory counts and stock management activities.
• Support loading and unloading of delivery vehicles when required.
• Follow all safety and operational procedures in the warehouse environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience in warehouse picking or logistics is preferred but not essential.
• Ability to read and interpret pick lists and delivery manifests.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy in handling orders.
• Physically fit, able to stand for long periods and lift packages up to [specify weight] kg.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime when needed.
