Job Title: Qualified Petrol/Diesel MechanicLocation: Alice Springs, Northern Territory, AustraliaEmployment Type: Full-TimeRelocation Support: Available for the right candidateAbout the Role:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Petrol/Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team in Alice Springs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a variety of vehiclesexperience with Toyota vehicles and Yamaha small engines/ golf carts is highly desirable. This role also involves mentoring and training junior mechanics, making it a perfect fit for a mechanic with leadership capabilities and a passion for knowledge-sharing.Key Responsibilities: Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on petrol and diesel engines across a range of light and heavy vehicles. Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to manufacturer standards. Maintain accurate records of services and repairs performed. Mentor, guide, and train apprentice and junior mechanics, promoting a positive learning environment. Conduct road tests and final inspections to ensure quality and safety. Communicate effectively with customers and team members. Adhere to workplace health and safety standards and company policies.Requirements: Trade qualification as a Light or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Cert III or equivalent). Minimum 35 years of hands-on experience in petrol/diesel engine maintenance and repair. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and workshop equipment. Toyota/ Yamaha small engine (Golf cart) experience preferred but not mandatory. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability and willingness to mentor junior staff. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
