About the Role:
SD Recruitment is seeking reliable and professional Medical Receptionists to join our talent pool for both permanent and locum placements in Cape Town and surrounding areas. We work with a variety of private healthcare providers including clinics, medical practices, and specialist facilities to match candidates with roles that suit their experience and availability.
As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, patient records, and ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience at the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients professionally and courteously
- Manage patient appointments, cancellations, and rescheduling efficiently
- Maintain and update accurate patient records and databases
- Answer phones, respond to patient enquiries, and provide clear communication
- Coordinate with clinical staff to support daily operations
- Handle billing, payments, and basic administrative tasks as required
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or similar administrative role in healthcare
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in appointment scheduling software and MS Office
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work in a busy, patient-focused environment
- Professional and friendly demeanour
- Flexibility to work permanent or locum shifts as needed
