Our clients in the consulting space are on the hunt for a Data and Analytics Engineer to support data, analytics, and platform operations through comprehensive database management, Qlik platform administration, development, governance, and cross-functional collaboration. The role ensures a secure, high-performing, scalable environment across data platforms and analytics systems, enabling business continuity, insights, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Database Managed Services

• Administer and optimize databases to ensure efficiency, performance, and security.
  
• Fine-tune configurations and manage resource allocation to maintain optimal performance.
  
• Perform continuous performance monitoring and tuning for scalability and efficiency.
  
• Drive continuous service improvement through proactive monitoring, trend analysis, and evaluation of security and performance.
  
• Troubleshoot issues logged through the internal support system and perform problem diagnosis.
  
• Implement and maintain automated backup and recovery processes for data protection.
  
• Monitor and scale database storage requirements.
  
• Ensure security and compliance via masking, encryption, and access controls.
  
• Provide 24/7 infrastructure support to minimize downtime.
  
• Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations.
  
• Monitor and troubleshoot Microsoft Azure data pipelines.
  

QlikView & Qlik Sense Services

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Qlik Sense applications.
  
• Manage Qlik object migrations across Development, QA, and Production.
  
• Analyze Windows and Qlik Sense server logs to resolve issues.
  
• Administer Qlik Sense Management Console including permissions, licensing, folder structure, and task scheduling.
  
• Perform performance monitoring and ensure scalability of the Qlik environment.
  
• Liaise with the Qlik team on new features and technical escalations.
  
• Provide technical guidance to developers and support NPrinting setup.
  
• Conduct system backups, recovery, compliance checks, and vulnerability scanning.
  
• Plan and execute Qlik environment upgrades and decommissioning activities.
  
• Oversee QlikSense Site Management including License and token management, Node configuration, Data connections, Content security rules, Task and trigger management, User synchronization
  
• Collaborate with infrastructure and architecture teams to maintain optimal environments.
  

Development

• Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes (SSIS).
  
• Perform T-SQL development for data processing and reporting.
  
• Develop shell scripts (dotnet/C++).
  
• Produce documentation for development and operational processes.
  
• Support workflow automation and bot development tasks.
  
• Build and maintain FTP scripting.
  
• Develop Qlik data models.
  

Governance

• Deploy and support audit principles across systems and processes.
  
• Resolve issues identified in audits and ensure ongoing compliance.
  
• Contribute to developing and maintaining the data governance strategy.
  

Collaboration

• Partner with business stakeholders on projects and deliverables.
  
• Support cross-departmental collaboration.
  
• Integrate closely with Business Analysts, Security, Architecture, and Solutions teams.
  

Requirements

• Degree/diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field (optional to include if you want).
  
• Proven experience in database administration and performance optimization.
  
• Experience with QlikView and Qlik Sense administration.
  
• Experience with Microsoft Azure data pipelines (advantageous).
  
• Strong background in ETL and pipeline development using SSIS.
  
• Proficiency in T-SQL and scripting (dotnet/C++).
  
• Experience in backup/recovery, security, and compliance management.
  
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration within technology environments.
