Job Description
Core Criteria:
- Valid certification in hospitality management or related field is preferred.
- A valid driver’s licence
- Proven experience in luxury hospitality management, ideally within a safari lodge or remote luxury setting.
- Strong leadership and staff management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent customer service skills and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
- Experience in procurement, inventory control, and supplier management.
- Good financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost-control measures.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to the dynamic nature of a safari lodge environment.
- Assist the Lodge Manager in overseeing daily lodge operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Manage and motivate the lodge staff, fostering a positive, team-oriented working environment, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and guest care. Conduct weekly staff meetings.
- Ensure exceptional guest service, addressing guest needs promptly and personally to create memorable safari experiences.
- Oversee procurement processes, including inventory management, stock ordering, and supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
- Coordinate and supervise housekeeping, food and beverage, guides, and other departments to uphold standards of excellence and safety.
- Maintain strict health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
- Assist with budget management and financial reporting, including controlling costs and maximizing revenue opportunities.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve issues swiftly to enhance overall satisfaction and loyalty.
- Support training and development initiatives for staff to promote ongoing service excellence and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with management to implement new initiatives that enhance the lodge’s reputation and guest experience.
This is a live-in position. 21 Days On / 7 Days Off work cycle. Meals provided while on duty.
