Job Description

5 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT Job Function: To manage the processes and resources accountable for the on time and accurate reporting of financial information as well as the provision of financial management packs, contributing to operational effectiveness, client / customer satisfaction, reduced risk, profitability and compliance to relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Key performance areas: Support function to the Finance Executive Play a key role in financial reporting monthly including month-end close processes Ensure accurate and timely reporting to all stakeholders Ensure compliance with the financial processes, policies and disciplines Execute financial compliance or operational reviews Conduct risk assessments and identify controls in place to mitigate identified risks Identify control and reporting gaps and opportunities for improvement Assist with special requests and projects as required on accounting and compliance or commercial matters Conduct reviews of trial balances/GL reconciliations as agreed Assist with analysis of operating companies financial statement to drive efficiencies Manage the entire finance operations. Including but not limited to cashflow and Creditors Assisting with preparation and review of monthly management accounts Coordinate with service providers – suppliers and bank Staff management, mentoring, couching, training, development and support Comply with occupational health and safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements, including safe driving practices Qualifications required: BCom Honours Accounting with articles completed Skills and experience required: Minimum 2-3 years post articles experience 3 years or more experience in a similar role Strong staff management experience Strong analytical and evaluation ability Good communication skills, both verbal and written Strong planning and organising skills Strong team player able to work independently Proficiency in Excel SAP Experience advantageous Behavioral Competencies: Deciding and initiating action Working with people Adhering to principles and values Relating and networking Presenting and communicating information Analysing Learning & researching Creating and innovating Formulating strategies and concepts Achieving personal work goals and objectives Technical Competencies: Proficient budgeting and cost management knowledge and / or skill Proficient business IT systems knowledge and / or skill Advanced budgeting and cost management knowledge and / or Skill Advanced financial management knowledge and / or skill Advanced financial reporting knowledge and / or skill Advanced people management and development knowledge and / or skill Proficient labour relations procedures knowledge and / or skill Seasoned commercial knowledge and / or skill Seasoned risk and compliance knowledge and / or skill Advanced legal compliance knowledge and / or skill Advanced financial planning knowledge and / or skill
