About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client in the Healthcare industry is urgently seeking a skilled Theatre Scrub/Recovery Nurse to join their team in Mthatha, Eastern Cape. We are looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the success of our healthcare facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile operating theatre environment.
- Scrub in and assist the surgical team.
- Handle surgical instruments and supplies.
- Monitor patient vital signs during surgery.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols.
- Provide post-operative patient care in recovery.
- Assess and manage patient pain levels.
- Educate patients and families on discharge care.
- Document patient care accurately.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members.
- Act as a patient advocate.
- Maintain current knowledge of surgical practices.
- Ensure patient safety throughout the perioperative period.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current and valid registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Proven experience as a Scrub Nurse and Recovery Nurse in a busy operating theatre environment in South Africa.
- Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, and post-operative care principles.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current and valid registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
