Job Description

This person will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure our packaging and manufacturing process meet the highest standards. The role will work closely with production, suppliers, and management to drive continuous improvement, resolve quality issues and customer complaints, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a strong safety culture across the site. Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance Develop, implement, and maintain QA processes and procedures. Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on processes and finished products. Write and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance. Collaborate with production teams to identify and address manufacturing issues. Monitor, analyse and report on quality performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Provide training and support to staff on quality assurance processes and best practices. Facilitate training of SOPs Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to finished goods quality. Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards. Perform sporadic production checks and follow through on HSE minutes, findings, and improvements Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures in line with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001). Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis across the facility. Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented. Organize safety drills and emergency preparedness activities. Conduct HSE training and awareness programs for all employees. Ensure proper use and availability of PPE and enforce safety protocols on-site. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with local and national HSE regulations, fire codes, environmental legislation, and industry best practices. Maintain all required records, licenses, and permits related to facilities and safety operations. Education experience, Key knowledge and skills Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Additional certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or Six Sigma (preferred) Professional certifications in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, SAMTRAC, ISO Auditor) preferred Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Implementation and working knowledge of ISO 9001 Experience in writing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Must be self-disciplined and be able to work alone
