About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Account Manager to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for managing and growing strategic client relationships within the flexible packaging industries, with a focus on food & beverage, FMCG, industrial, and related markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow strategic client relationships
- Develop and implement account plans to achieve sales targets
- Identify new opportunities and drive revenue growth
- Regularly assess client needs, understanding their business objectives, and provide tailored solutions
- Address client concerns, resolve issues promptly, and ensure customer satisfaction
- Track account performance, prepare reports, and provide insights to internal stakeholders
- Conduct regular business review meetings to assess performance, forecasts, and opportunities
- Provide accurate and timely forecasts (monthly, quarterly) for assigned accounts
- Analyse business trends, performance against targets, competitive landscape, and market opportunities
- Generate and present performance reports to internal and client stakeholders
- Lead strategic negotiations for pricing, contracts, and renewal agreements
- Collaborate in new product development or packaging innovations that align with client and market needs
Requirements
- A tertiary qualification in a related field is preferred for this role.
- Previous sales experience having worked within the flexible and related packaging industry calling on the food manufacturing industry is preferred for the role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this position.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications in a relevant field is an advantage, but not mandatory. Prior experience working in the food manufacturing industry and proficiency in technical knowledge of packaging solutions are highly recommended.
