About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Specialist to join our team in South Africa, with experience working on CAPEX projects in the manufacturing sector. As an Electrical Engineer/Programming or Mechatronics Engineer, you will provide support for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Electricity and Automation (E&A) professional and technical operational activities and during participation in CAPEX projects; doing so in line with corporate guidelines, enforcing that all MES-E&A activities enhance business objectives, product quality and plant operation/performance while ensuring that peoples health and safety, product safety, and environment are never compromised.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Electricity and Automation (E&A) professional and technical operational activities
- Participate in Capital Investments projects in the factory ensuring that the technical solution follows corporate and market standards and is delivered with the expected quality, being on time and within budget
- Prepare user and technical specifications, coordinating the requirements of the main users (production, quality, etc.), follow up on the solution development, pre-test, implementation, and training of operators and maintenance crews
- Ensure Process & Equipment safety for people, products, and the environment and that one exhibits an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations.
- Ensure all installations comply with market and corporate safety, health, environment, product safety, and product quality standards.
- Implement Change Management to appropriately manage modifications
- Apply market and local automotive and electrical legislation.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Automation and Electrical experience
- Tertiary: Automotive Engineering Technology, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification
- Experience in Personnel Supervision of technical teams.
- Participation in the development of engineering projects as part of a multidisciplinary team (preferably including different products and technologies in Electrical and Automation areas)
- Strong knowledge of Robotics, PLC’s and Process Control
- Production Line experience
- Exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning, and/or maintenance execution desired but not required
- Have experience Project Management.
Qualifications
- Completed Automotive Engineering Technology, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification
