About the Role
Recruitpro Solutions is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer with a strong background in secondary systems for high-voltage substations. We are looking for a skilled professional to lead the engineering of secondary systems, design and specify protection, control, automation, and SCADA systems, and ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and grid operator requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering of secondary systems for high-voltage substations
- Design, specify, and review protection, control, automation, and SCADA systems
- Translate functional and client requirements into detailed engineering designs and documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and grid operator requirements
- Develop and review protection philosophies, control schematics, and system architectures
- Provide technical guidance and quality assurance within project teams
- Coordinate with primary engineering, construction, commissioning, and client stakeholders
- Support testing, commissioning, and final handover of secondary systems
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering
- Minimum 7 years experience in secondary engineering for high-voltage substations
- Strong experience in protection, control, automation, and SCADA systems
- Proven ability to convert functional requirements into detailed engineering designs
- Experience with EPLAN and/or L-CAD
Qualifications
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans, with willingness to learn Dutch
