Job Description
- Fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain mechanical equipment, machines, and production line components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and schematics accurately.
- Operate precision machinery such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other workshop tools.
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on machinery to reduce downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults efficiently.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and adhere to OHS Act 85 of 1993 regulations and company safety policies.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to optimize workflow and machine performance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and report recurring mechanical issues to management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 (mathematics will be an added advantage)
- Trade Test Certificate in Fitting & Turning.
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in the manufacturing or production sector.
- Practical experience with mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic CNC machinery (advantageous).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications accurately
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Precision and attention to detail in all mechanical work.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of South African safety standards (OHS Act, LOTO procedures).
- Good communication skills for reporting and liaising with supervisors and colleagues
