About the Role
We are seeking a professional Assistant Hotel Room Service Manager to support the Room Service Manager in overseeing all aspects of in-room dining operations. This role ensures that guest orders are delivered promptly, accurately, and to the highest standard of quality, while maintaining operational efficiency and exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Room Service Manager in overseeing daily room service operations and schedules
- Ensure prompt, accurate, and professional delivery of in-room dining orders
- Supervise, mentor, and support room service staff, maintaining high service standards
- Address and resolve guest complaints or special requests promptly and professionally
- Coordinate with kitchen, F&B, and housekeeping departments to ensure smooth operations
- Monitor service delivery, adherence to SOPs, and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Oversee order accuracy, presentation, and portion control to maintain brand standards
- Assist with training, coaching, and development of room service team members
- Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with hotel policies and regulations
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in hotel Room Service or Food & Beverage operations in a 4/5-star property
- Previous supervisory or assistant management experience in room service, F&B, or luxury hotel dining preferred
- Knowledge of hotel PMS (Opera or similar) and room service order management systems
- Hospitality qualification or diploma advantageous
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve guest issues efficiently
- Strong organizational, planning, and operational management abilities
- South African citizen with a valid ID
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
