About the Role
Sushibox is seeking a skilled and experienced Sushi Chef to join our team in our Southern Suburbs location. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing sushi and other Japanese dishes according to our company recipes and standards. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sushi and other Japanese dishes according to company recipes and standards
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh and properly stored
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times
- Assist with kitchen prep, plating, and garnishing as needed
- Monitor stock levels and notify the kitchen manager of shortages
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during peak hours
- Assist in training junior kitchen staff, if required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef (minimum of Six months)
- Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and Japanese cuisine
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent attention to detail and presentation
- Food safety and hygiene certification (preferred)
Qualifications
- Completed relevant culinary education or training
- Relevant certifications, such as food safety and hygiene
