About the Role
Hire Resolve is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Workshop Manager for our client in the construction industry based in Bloemfontein, Free State. As a Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the workshop, managing a team of technicians, and ensuring efficient and effective workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage budgets for the purchase of materials, fixings and fastenings and machine tools to ensure the progress of projects through the workshop
- Lead and supervise a team of technicians and administrative staff in the construction industry.
- Oversee technicians’ workload, performance, and work quality.
- Conduct necessary maintenance on construction equipment.
- Manage the inventory of vital spare parts for construction projects.
- Maintain control and ensure the standard of workshop equipment and cleanliness.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for construction equipment.
- Establish and enforce health and safety procedures and meet ISO quality requirements for construction projects.
- Initiate and oversee critical improvement projects across all operational areas in the construction industry.
- Manage the budget for repairs and maintenance of construction equipment.
Requirements
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic with 10 years of experience on construction plant and equipment
- Trade tested as a Diesel Mechanic
- At least 5 years proven experience as a Workshop Manager or in a similar management role
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills within the construction industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge of workshop management processes and procedures within the construction industry
- Proficient in MS Office for reporting and documentation
- Valid driver’s license
Qualifications
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic with 10 years of experience on construction plant and equipment (Trade tested as a Diesel Mechanic)
- Bachelor’s degree (Matric) or higher is not required but preferred.
