About the Role

Service Solutions Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team in Johannesburg. As an Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and profitability of our organization. You will be responsible for managing inventory, tracking sales and revenue, and maintaining tax compliance, among other essential tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Track stock levels and cost of goods sold to accurately measure profitability
Record all sales, returns, and discounts to provide a real-time view of earnings
Collect and remit sales tax, ensuring compliance with regional rules
Monitor both fixed costs (like rent) and variable costs (like shipping and labor) to protect profit margins
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and perform balance sheet and VAT reconciliations
Manage supplier payments, raise requisitions, and handle accounts receivable and debtor accounts
Ensure the proper control, management, and safeguarding of company assets, cash, and coin

Requirements

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience with accounting software and ERP systems is highly beneficial
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required
Strong communication and organizational skills

Qualifications

A relevant degree, such as a B.Com in Financial Accounting, or an equivalent qualification
