About the Role

Join our dynamic team at Specter Security Solutions as a Security Guard in Rustenburg. We are seeking a highly vigilant and responsive individual to conduct regular patrols, monitor surveillance equipment, and provide exceptional customer service to employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols on foot or by vehicle to deter crime and detect potential hazards
  • Monitor and operate surveillance equipment like CCTV cameras
  • Keep a visible and alert presence to observe suspicious activities and behaviour
  • Monitor and control entry and exit points, verifying the authorisation of employees and visitors
  • Check for and report any signs of tampering or forced entry on doors, windows and gates
  • Issue and manage access badges for restricted areas
  • Operating scanning equipment in certain locations
  • Respond quickly to alarms, distress calls and other security breaches
  • Provide a first response to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire or disturbances
  • Coordinate with emergency services like police and fire departments
  • Assist with and facilitate evacuations during emergencies
  • Intervene in conflicts and disturbances, using de-escalation techniques
  • Write OB incidents documenting daily activities, any irregularities and emergency responses
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of visitors and their times of entry/exit
  • Provide customer service and assistance to employees and visitors
  • Ensure the property complies with safety and security regulations
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and report hazards

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; no formal education is needed
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
  • Ability to pass a security clearance

Qualifications

No formal qualifications are necessary for this role. However, a valid security clearance is required.

Salary & Benefits

The salary range for this position is between R30,000 and R40,000 per annum, depending on experience. Other benefits include:
