About the Role
A well-established service provider is seeking an experienced Breakdown Technician to join their 24/7 Breakdown Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for attending to tyre breakdowns and on-site fitments, ensuring safe, efficient, and professional service in line with company procedures and national safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to tyre breakdowns as dispatched by controllers
- Load and collect required stock and equipment before dispatch
- Drive to breakdown locations and provide updates every 30 minutes
- Report delays, deviations, or challenges promptly
- Repair, fit, and strip tyres (OTR, commercial truck, and passenger tyres)
- Adhere to all safety procedures and national safety requirements
- Accurately complete job cards and obtain customer signatures
- Capture required tyre photographs in line with company standards
- Submit completed job cards daily and attend debriefing sessions
- Maintain breakdown vehicle, cage, tools, and stock
- Report any damages, losses, or shortages of company property
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 10
- Able to read, write, and speak English
- Minimum 5 years experience in tyre fitting and stripping
- Valid Code 10 drivers license
- Ability to safely operate breakdown tools and equipment
- Physically fit and able to work with heavy tools and machinery
- Basic tyre service and safety training
Qualifications
- Completed Grade 10
- Valid Code 10 driver’s license
